Brick Wall !! Looking for any information at all about the death, burial of my ancestor William George Walton, Captain of 1820 British Settlers ship 'Nautilus' taking British immigrants to South Africa. He came from a family of master mariners in Sunderland County Durham, where he was born 17 June 1795 to parents William Walton and Elizabeth Reed. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stellamaris.

Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for your message. I've checked and unfortunately these individuals are not mine: my William Walton married Adelaide Emily Pullen, a passenger on board the 1820 British Settlers ship 'Nautilus' en route to South Africa. They had three sons: William Borrodaile Walton, Augustus Reed Walton and Thomas Tindall Walton. It appears that Captain William Walton died around 1833, after which Adelaide and their three sons returned to South Africa to live with her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Pullen. The sons subsequently took up farming. Adelaide died in 1867 at Addo in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.
I'm actually stumped as to Captain William Walton's circumstances of death: exact date and place, cause, when and where buried. I haven't been able to find anything about this at all and keep hoping some information will turn up.
Thank you for your interest and prompt response and I wish you happy hunting in your own research.
Cheers, Stellamaris.
