I have a Captain Alexander Storm married to Susanna Taylor. I have trying to find if these two were married to each other?

Alexander Storm b. abt 1848 Findhorn, Moray, Scotland
d. 12 Aug 1905 Forest Gate, London, England

Susanna Taylor b. 1 Sep 1863 Ardrossan, Ayrshire
d. 10 Aug 1945 Essex, England

They had about 9 children.

What puzzles me is the large difference in their ages. Since nearly all the other people on me tree, their ages very between 1 and about 6 years.
Could Susanna be his second wife?

Thanks.

THE MISSING VESSEL JANET STORM
All hope of the Janet Storm, which left Hartlepool for Fraserburgh with coal some six weeks ago, has been given up. The vessel belonged to Mr John Storm, Glasgow, and was under the charge of his brother Captain Alexander Storm, belonging to Findhorn, where he left his young wife and child.

Totally sidetracked now
Any of your lot come to Australia?

Could Susanna be his second wife?

Large age gaps are nothing new in my lot. A couple of marriages have nearly a 20 year age gap.

Gibbo The Storm family is just a branch of my tree. My main tree is the Taylor tree. So I do not have any other Storm presides this family.
Susanna Taylor b. 1 Sep 1863 Ardrossan Ayrshire, d. 10 Aug 1945 Wanstead East of London.
Daughter of Captain Peter Taylor b. 27 May 1833 Saltcoats d. 11 Jan 1883 at sea. Captain in the merchant navy. He married Susan Marr b. 14 may 1837 Leith Edinburgh d. 12 Oct 1913 East of London. Peter and Susan were married in Ballarat Victoria Australia on the 20 Nov 1855.

Susanna was the fifth child, the first three were born in Australia the rest in Scotland.

Susanna then married Alexander Storm on the 12 Aug 1883 Poplar East London.

They had 9 children
James Storm . 15 Jun 1884 Limehouse London d. 17 Jun 1961 Wanstead
Susan Taylor Storm b. 14 Apr 1886 Limehouse d. 19 Oct 1975 Ducorum
Jane Smith Storm b. 5 Apr 1890 Forest Gate London d. 1918 London
Margaret Sinclair Storm b. 1892 Forest Gate d. 1892 Forest Gate
Alex Leslie Storm 1896 Forest Gate d. 17 Nov 1896 Forest Gate
Katherine Taylor Storm b.1 Mar 1898 Forest Gate d. 1 March 1898 Forest Gate
Marjorie Storm b. 13 Sep 1899 Forest gate d. 4 Mar 1995 Reading
Bessie Storm b. 15 Jan 1901 Forest Gate d. July 1993 Dacorum
Archibald Storm b. 23 Feb 1903 London d. 12 May 1943 Algiers. (During the war)

I know Alexander Storm as captain sailed back and forth from London to Australia. He also sailed to San Francisco . Someone told me he was friends with Peter Taylor , Susanna’s father.

DaveHam this is what I found on the census. All of them are the England census. I have not found the 1871 either I think it would be the Scotland census. 1901 is the only census I have found so far for Alexander Storm.

On the 1881 census Susanna is known as Sussie and she is 17/18
On the 1891 census Susanna is now Susan Storm, wife and she is 27, and staying at 37 Disraeli Rd Forest Gate
On the census 1901 Alexander Storm appears, Head and 53 years old, master mariner, born Aryshire Scotland. Susan is indicated as been 37 years old.

On the 1911 census Susan is now a widow and the head, her Mother also a widow is saying with her.

Dave I believe you have answered my problem with this

( Alexander Storm
birth: 21 January 1848
christening: 30 January 1848 KINLOSS,MORAY,SCOTLAND
father: James Storm
mother: Jane Smith)
And this
(Marriages Sep Qtr 1883
DOWNES Thomas Percival Poplar 1c 1204
POWELL Frances Sarah Poplar 1c 1204
STORM Alexander Poplar 1c 1204
Taylor Susan Poplar 1c 1204 )

Thanks too the two of you for your help I believe I now have the right Alexander Storm.
I was getting confused over the age difference and also there where so many Alexander Storms to choose from. Now I have his Parents names I will be able to find more info on him. :)

Still a possibility Alexander married twice. I've ruled one out and can't find another but it's still open. A copy of the 1883 marriage might show him as a widower but then again if he had married previously and the Minister didn't ask that question Alexander might not have mentioned it.
