Hi Dave,

There is a Margaret born Crichton 1779 to James Watson and Mgt Somervill. Crichton is next to Pathhead and perhaps the informant got Mgt's mother wrong. Is that what you are thinking?

Do you have Margaret and Adam's children? I can only find an Adam born 1803.

Thanks Barbara.

I was stuck and didn't know what to think. It's possible the informant got it wrong. Knowing Black was there somewhere, but actually on other side of family.

I have found nothing yet on Adam after his 1803 birth.

One more son found. No idea about others in that gap.

I have found nothing yet on Adam after his 1803 birth.
Something to ponder..

FMP:
Kelts Adam 1804
1826 British Army Service Records
Culross, Perthshire

There are about 4 images, not one appears to give any real personal info other than he comes from Culross and was Attested 19 July 1926 aged 22 yrs.

Ended up as a "SERJEANT Regiment Royal Artillery" sic.

The transcript has:
"WO 97 - Chelsea Pensioners British Army service records 1760-1913
Archive The National Archives
Archive reference WO 97
Box 1240
Box record number 95"

Most of the references to his name look like Kelty in the images, though 'f', 's' and may be others can't be ruled out.

Geoff

Edit: Was in Malta 6yrs +. Disch 13 July 1847. Rheumatism was mentioned.
