Hello

Is anyone else having problems accessing Scottish census on "A", England, Wales etc are ok.
I'm really getting frustrated.

edit: now my wireless broadband is going AWOL, maybe it's me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi crankypants,

I've just had a go and it keeps coming up no matches found, this was on the 1851 just using various names or pob eg Glasgow, even using the main search box is coming up the same, is this what is happening to you?

Hi juliejtp

Yes that's exactly what's happening. Individual census search or from the main, only for Scotland, first time this has happened to me.

Thankyou so much for checking, thought I was doing something wrong.

cheers

Hi

Still having the same problem with the Scottish census.

Decided to contact "A" with this problem. They ask you to enter your email address, so I enter address, then it tells me email address failed. Then I decided to register as new and it tells me this email address is already registered.
They certainly know how to play with my mind.

Hi crankypants

I just searched and typed in Mackay in the surname engine and it said there are no matches. I even asked to look a everyone in Scotland in 1871 and there were no matches. Obviously something wrong with the site.

Thanks for looking Ben.

I checked five minutes ago and still the same.

You can search via the Historical Records tab, can't do an exact search, so if surname is not common you won't have too much trouble. Don't bother to look for John Smith 1820 Berkshire because you will be there all day as all the census years pop up.

cheers
