/Hi,

Is it legal for me to scan and store birth/marriage/death certificates on my computer?

I am having trouble transcribing one of my ancestors marriage certificates and was hoping to run it past some people on this forum if possible. Obviously depending upon the above answer can I post this certificate on this forum

As long as you have permission from the owners.

Based on the fact that I purchased a copy of the certificate would that make me the owner?

If it is illegal, then I should be locked up forever, with the amount I've scanned and published.

Certs are Crown Copyright.
