I can help a bit more. I know it's Lanark but don't know the parish or reg no.

George Chamers Head 56 Labourer [no pob]
Elizabeth Chamers Wife 51 Glasgow
Andrew Chamers Son 25 Puddler Glasgow
+ 3 boarders and 5 visitors

There is something wrong with the census in that it does not show on A... last time I looked at the library.

I think Andrew made himself younger in 1881 because Elizabeth was born 1853.

You might find it if Elizabeth is not included. A note from another web site says 'cross check' between Andrew and George as Chamers.

The reply I received 4 years ago on another site.

... have gobbled them up but from Scotlands People, I think Andrew and father George show in High Church for 1871. There is a cross check with two names in High Church, an Andrew aged 25 and a George aged 56. Surname indexed as CHAMERS.

Yes.

Death 1858 CHALMERS Euphemia [GLENDINNING] 39 High Church, Lanark 644/2 1656

Perhaps it's only on SP.

It's not on a main line.
Possibly, though there is this in the FMP index..

Chamers George
b. c1815
1871 England, Wales & Scotland Census
Blackfriars or College, High Church, Lanarkshire, Scotland

Geoff

EDIT: So anyone with an FMP sub?

Just as a matter of interest, Andrew's marriage looks be High Church, Glasgow, so likely they are in that area..

Geoff

EDIT: And the FMP 1871 looks interesting.
