Hi, I'm looking for some help locating a WW1 record for the above man. He is on the 1911 Census as an Asylum Attendant at Willerby Yorkshire. Charles marries in 1913 to Harriet HANSON and they have 2 children b. 1913 & 1914. Another child later in 1920.
In WW1 1916 Charles brother Wm. Vincent MILLER was killed in action and I can find his record stating he was a Private in the 10th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment No. 7557.
Charles & William's parents were Charles Richard & Elizabeth MILLER nee RICHARDSON.
In WW1 1917 in the Hull Newspaper is an article mentioning that "Charles MILLER, (Hull Heavy Battery) son of Mr. C. Miller, De La Pole Cottages has been gassed and is in a French Hospital". It also mentions Mr. C. Miller has already lost one son in the war. This is definitely the same family as a few generations lived in the De La Pole Cottages & worked at the Asylum in Willerby. Also the information on Charles being gassed during the war was handed down through family.
Charles Edward MILLER b.1890 appears in the 1939 Register with his wife Harriet, still working as a Mental Nurse in Yorkshire. He died in 1963 in Hull, Yorkshire.
If anyone can find the WW1 record of Charles Edward MILLER, it would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time...…….Sashar
