Charles James Plaice was born on 20 September 1881 in Aldershot, Hants. He joined the Royal Navy as a boy on 14 January 1897 and signed on for 12 years on 20 Sept 1899.
If I am reading his record correctly on 26 October 1912 he agreed to serve with the Royal Australian Navy for 5 years.
I suspect he was back in England by 1923 when he married Flora F Trantor. After that I can find no further trace of him England.
Did he/they emigrate to Australia?

NAA are in Canberra and that's a date range probably when the records were reviewed and digitised.

I can't find him in the index for Australian electoral rolls.

So, could that be when it was transcribed, not actually living there?
