Charles Rowbottom

I can't seem to find a death record for Charles Edward Hayden Rowbottom. He was born about 1871 in Hull, Yorkshire. His father, Walter Hayden Rowbottom, was a fisherman. Charles, or "Charlie", also went to sea. Presumably, he served his apprenticeship with Henry Fernie & Sons where he was the "oldest" apprentice. I know that in 1891 he sat for second mate's ticket (I don't know where; a shipmate sat for his in Dundee, Scotland, but then that was where he was from). Beyond that I see nothing on him. Could it be he died at sea? Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thank you.
