Hello,

Charlotte HUNT b. abt 1824 Bromyard, Herefordshire

Elizabeth WEATHERBY b. abt 1848 Aston, Warwickshire

I'd like a look up for Charlotte & Elizabeth in 1851 please.

They should both be in Warwickshire and if I'm very lucky even in the same household.

Elizabeth's father should be Richard but there might be a Richard STUBBS lodger.
Elizabeth's mother is Charlotte but not necessarily Charlotte HUNT.

All three are together in 1861 but I can't make any sense of it. Did Charlotte HUNT marry a Richard WEATHERBY and it's coincidence there is a Richard STUBBS in the household?

Deaths Dec 1859
Weatherby Richard Leek 6b 146

Is this the birth registration for Mary Ann WEATHERBY born 1863/1864 Birmingham?

Births Jun 1864
WILLOUGHBY Mary Ann Stubbs Birmingham 6d 157

Death # 1943/B61793 Morley Mary Ann - Richard Weatherby - Charlotte UNKNOWN

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

1881 census has Richard Stubbs and wife Catherine, I'm sure this is the same Richard as Andrew Whithery born abt 1854 Birmingham is a boarder.

CP Birmingham
RD Birmingham
Sub RD St. George

Richards Stubbs head age 60 occ engine driver born Potteries Staffordshire
Catherine wife age 50 occ press worker born Ireland
Kate Costo granchild age 2 occ press worker  born Birmingham
Andrew Whithery boarder age 27 occ ----- born Birmingham

Class RG11

Folio 62

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

That is the same Richard from pob. I'm interested in seeing if Richard and Charlotte and Elizabeth WEATHERBY are together or not in 1851. They are by 1861:

Charlot Hunt 37 b. Bromyard Hereforshire
Ellizabeth Witherby 13 b. Aston
Andrew Witherby 7 b. Birmingham
Richard Stubbs 43 b. Pottery Staffs

Ok, I just had a thought. :D Perhaps 'Hunt' is a mistranscription of 'Head' but then pob for Charlotte is different. If Richard Weatherby died in 1859 given the 1864 birth registration perhaps Richard Stubbs is the father of Mary Ann.

Deaths Dec 1872
WEATHERBY Charlotte 49 Birmingham 6d 163

Marriages Dec 1875
MORRIS Catherine Birmingham 6d 114
STUBBS Richard Birmingham 6d 114

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I’ve been searching for a couple of days for this, and (hopefully) I’ve finally cracked it!

Class: HO107; Piece: 2051; Folio: 344; Page: 30 (Copyright TNA)

People in Household:

Samuel Wethersbury 27 (Agricultural labourer), born Parkhouse, Hereford
Charlott Wethersbury 27, born Whisley? Hereford
Elizabeth Wethersbury 3, born Birmingham

Address looks like Cope Street Birmingham

In the 3rd Q of 1847, there is a marriage in Aston of Samuel Wethersbury. On the same page is Charlotte Knott. (Vol 16 page 291).

In the last Q of 1847, there is a birth of Elizabeth Wethersbury in Aston (Vol 16 page 208)

Hello Josie,

Thanks for looking.

So father of Elizabeth is a Samuel but father of Mary Ann is Richard.

I'm still wondering about this one:

Births Jun 1864
WILLOUGHBY Mary Ann Stubbs Birmingham 6d 157

Can we prove it's someone else?

Can we show 'Whisley' ? and Bromyard are nearby places in Hereford?

Can we find a marriage and death for Samuel?

Can we show the 'Hunt' in 1861 is really head?

Regards,

Dave

I've been looking for a death of Samuel, between 1847 and 1851, but haven't found one yet! Of course, above you can see the marriage which I added later to the post!

Hello Josie,

I can't see any other place close to Bromyard than that one.

Elizabeth was born in Aston.

Births Mar 1854
Weatherby Andrew Birmingham 6d 12

Deaths Jun 1854
Weathersbury Samuel Birmingham 6d 16

So we come to the birth of Mary Ann in 1863 or 1864. Her death reg says her father is Richard so I suspect it's Richard Stubbs.

There are other Willoughby births in Warwickshire but I can't find a Willoughby + Stubbs marriage to explain the Stubbs as a middle name.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I think it's highly likely that Richard Stubbs was Mary Ann's father! It's possible that Charlotte and Richard never married!

Best wishes,

Josie
