The STORRIER family in Australia started with William a convict who married the daughter of two convicts so it would not be out of place.

The tree makes no mention that Richard is a Convict.

Do we have 2x ???

The tree has 1838 marriage in Ryansvale, NSW - that's not St Mary's Sydney.

Ryan's Vale is a small village south of Goulburn where the RYAN family lived. :D

:eek:Have i been chasing someone elses convict then? :2fun::2fun::2fun:
It kept me quiet anyway
Don't know yet. :)

Can only see Richard and son Richard F. b. 1849 so age age is out in tree and or convict record. Most curious thing is that the tree makes no mention of him being a convict.

Birth for Eliza - before the marriage I wonder. No Tree has 1841 - baptism in 1843 RC Sts Peter & Paul Goulburn

I still can't find a birth reg in 1840 or 1841 for Eliza.

No permission to marry. Curious given date of marriage and COF.

St Mary's RC Sydney

V1836214 126/1836 McCARTHY CHARLES - SULLIVAN MARY - LD

Mary's maiden name is SULLIVAN as per tree.

There are about 15x Mary SULLIVAN convicts :2fun:

Oh how strange. I had SIGGS in my tree.

John's son married his step-mother's niece.

We have the 1838 marriage with her name as McCARTHY.

The tree has her name as Mary SULLIVAN born 1810 Cork, Ireland. So I looked for an earlier marriage and found the 1836 one which the tree does not have.

I suspect Mary is a convict but it will take some sorting all of them out. Some arrived after 1836 so they can be eliminated.

Now I can't find a death for Charles 1836-1838. :D I don't know if the tree is right or not about Mary.

The 1836 marriage is not on film at the local library. Films only go to Volume 123. It will be on a different set of films at the Mitchell Library in the city.

This might be interesting if I can get hold of a copy - HERE

I've found another tree with no mention of Eliza.

The Sydney Monitor (NSW : 1828 - 1838)(about)
Friday 1 September 1837

Death. On the 30th August, at Parramatta Mr. Charles McCarthy, aged 35 years.

I dont think Charles was a convict. They didnt usually put convicts death notices in the papers did they?

Edited.. Deffo not a convict with a grave like this

http://austcemindex.com/inscription.php?id=7793993

I would say we have the right one as his is the only death for a Charles McCarthy for that time period.

1434 SIGGS Bridgit RC134 22 June 1881, 73y. Native of Sussex, ENG.
1435 SIGGS Edmund RC134 9 March 1861, 7m. Son of Richard & Mary Siggs.

NSW death
3912/1860 SIGGS EDMUND RICHARD MARY GOULBURN

This got me wondering who the hell is Bridget  I can find no death index to match.
Maybe a transcribing error as they had the wrong year for Edmund's death so maybe Bridget is actually Richard. Year of death and details match for him.

I dont think we would have much luck sorting out the Mary Sullivans. We dont even know for sure if she was a convict or free etc.
