Hi

This is an open vote for those to express if they wish to have a chat room connected to the forum, the type run by VB coding rather than the one on the tool bar. It's just a yes or no vote, don't be shy.:)

We're not just voting to over who wants a link put up to a chat room are we?
Or we voting on who wants a actual chat room?
aaahh sorry I was shattered when I replied last night. Due to where the link would go it would have to be a VB style chat room. so it would be more than a link. The reason I am doing this is I do not like downloading tool bars they are very unsecure and the best way to get trojans etc on top of that when I tried to find the chat room here, it's a nightmare to find and when I did eventually find the link I got shunted back to the home page anyway. There are chat room that can be added without killing the database.

It looks like most members are too shy to vote.
I think it was more because I was not clear in what I was asking, but hopfully have I have cleared that up now. Lets leave this until next Tuesday that will be a week so the weekend posters get chance to vote and on Tuesday at GMT 9am I will go with the majority votes.

I already lost the cuase for blog...which would have been great as Benny could have used them to put his adentures and family stuff in that I enjoy reading and Duckweed all her stuff rather than having to find threads all over the place it could have all been in one place...they could have also been used to log our adventures in our family research...but oh well never mind *sobs heart out*

Maybe they don't take this site to heart like we do.
Maybe those who dont want it may feel no need to vote cause if the chat room does go ahead they dont have to use it if they dont want to whereas those who want it will be more likely to vote to gain something they are interested in.

Personally to me 17 votes in 5 days regardless which way the votes go isnt a big interest in the chat room on the overall.

i say again, isnt that what this forum really is is a chat room. we all get together and chat with each other about our families and help each other with it all. why would we need anything else? just a jumbled up mess, if it aint broke dont fix it......
Marie44 :)
That's where a 3 way privatePM would come in handy for private conversations where nobody else can eves drop

Hi ‘sparkie’ I hope you get your chat room. :)

Personally I have no desire of using a chat room, however I can’t see why I should begrudge anyone else wanting one, it won’t affect me in the least so I say YES “go for it”.

I think ‘STERICO’ mentioned a while ago that the site had a chat room which was used by members a few years ago. Ask him how popular it was.

cheers

Could a mod please close this thread? thank you all for voting the result after a week (that agreed time) was 10 yes to 7 no. However as steve really doesn't want one it looks like we're not going to get one anyway. The next time I'm asked what I want I'll ask someone else!
