I have had wonderful time looking at all the old photos and postcards for Sheffield on Ebay, not buying any just looking. It was really fascinating as there were photos there and postcards not in the Sheffield Picture Library.

My late father was part of the team that painted Scarborough Hospital when it was built whenever that was. I have four black/white postcards, one of the hospital (before the trees grew), one of an operating theatre, two of North Bay. I believe my dad stayed in digs in Whitby with a family named Walker, with whom he was very friendly as there are photos of him with som-one from that family.
Why oh, why didn't people put names on the backs of these old photos??
