When Anc recently had a free weekend I found the baptism of a James Woods 8 Feb 1768 son of Thomas Woods, a Labourer of Sutton, whom I think may be my 4 x gt grandfather. Not quite sure why I didn't do it at the time, but I didn't look to see if Thomas had any more children. Probably because I don't find Anc the easiest site to search - I don't think it understands what "Exact" means.
The baptism I found didn't actually specify which church it took place in, just said Prescot/St Helens, which is very useful. St Helens is actually a Chapelry of the Parish of Prescot.
I have tried lancs opc and it covers the last half of the 1700s in Prescot, but not St Helens. The church in St Helens is St Helens (formerly St Mary).
Can anyone find any more children born to Thomas Woods of Sutton. I'm after his marriage as well.
Thanks,
Emeltee
