Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it was usual for weddings to be held on Christmas Day at this time?
My grt grandparents were married at Isleworth and he was a sailor in RN.
The witnesses were the brides young sister who was I think in mid -late teens and the other was someone whos name is unfamiliar and I cant read surname.
Other discoveries suggest that this could have been a secret wedding.
Perhaps someone could give me a few more clues?!
Thanks,
Adrienne.

Hi,
You'll find that a lot of couples got married either Christmas Day or Boxing Day as they were the two days when almost everyone got a day off work.
