That census is interesting in that it has some children not born Sussex although they were baptised there. The records actually say it's a birth not baptism date:

If it helps, I have instances in my tree whereby the 1841 Census says a person was born in one county and I have proof that they were born in another. Personally I tend to disregard the Yes and No!

Hello Emeltee,

I don't know what to believe in this case because there is a tree that has some children born in Kent.

It seems to me those records look like baptisms.

Dave

A tree - HERE

I have not been able to confirm all of that. Harriet and Rachel are not twins.

I can't find the 11 Oct 1804 record for Emmeline or the births in Kent.

The Sussex OPC site has the same dates as birth dates at Salem Baptist Chapel, Brighton.

Curious.

I've just had a look at the images of the baptisms. Emmeline, Sarah, Harriet, Rachel and Ann were all born in Cranbrook, Kent and all baptised on 5th July 1837 in Brighton. There is a note, written by the Minister at the end of the entries which reads 'NB Thomas Clark and Emmeline his wife formerly lived at Cranbrook in Kent but a few months back came to reside at Brightelmstone'

Sarah is my remote connection:

I,...
I, Sarah Clark do hereby declare that I am a Member or hold Communion with the Presbyterian Church - [Sarah signed]
I, Thomas Mowbray of Kangaroo Point, Co. Stanley, Minister of Presbyterian Church do hereby certify that Richard Henry Watson of Tarrouie ?, Co. Stanley and Sarah Clark of Brisbane, were joined together in Wedlock by me on the First of December 1849 at Brisbane, in the presence of Henry Bulgin and Thomas Clark. - [signed] T. Mowbray

Sarah's father is the 2nd witness. Emmeline died in 1845 and Thomas remarried in 1846. He waited more than 3 months.

Deaths Dec 1845
CLARK Emmeline Brighton 7 171

Marriages Sep 1846
Clark Thomas Brighton 7 423
Wadsworth Elizabeth Brighton 7 423

I can't see either on the Sussex OPC site.

Deaths in Queensland:
22 Nov 1878/B12662 Clark Thomas - George Clark - ** born England aged 78 years
29 Sep 1880/C01791 Clark Elizabeth - -Wadsworth - ** born England aged 69 years
