Hi, i am trying to trace my family tree though my grandmother on my fathers side of the family. They all seem to have come from Cumberland/westmorland. Names like Watermillock, Knock, Abbleby, Long Marton crop up.
So far I have
Ada Clifford b 1882 married Robert Smith, b 1874. She died in 1952.
Her father was Thomas Clifford b 1848 married Mary Jackson b1853.
His father was Joseph Clifford b 1813 married Mary Hetherington (Wedding 10th Nov 1836) b 1810.
His father was Richard Proctor Clifford born about 1789, he married Jane Elliot.
Now I have come to a dead end. I can't find any information about Richard, Proctor Clifford or his father.
Can anyone help?? If anyone has any other information about the family, I would LOVE to hear from you.
