Looking through old newspaper articles for husbands ancestors and came across an interesting article. Its listing the members of what amounts to a neighbourhood watch scheme in the 1820s albeit a big neighbourhood.
Anyway next to John Bullivant of Torksey is Job Bullivant.
I have always been stuck with John as he says he was born in Lincoln but have not found a birth and he is often called John Bullivant Robinson.
However fellow researcher said he had found John was apprenticed to a Robinson and seemed to inherit so maybe he just took the name Robinson because of that, or maybe he was illegitimate? Anyway John had several children.
First child Frances (could this be mother's name?)
2nd child John
3rd Jane wife's mother
4th William wife's father
5th Ann
6th Job (could this be father's name)
7th Robert he died in infancy (an untraced Robert Bullivant turned up as witness at son William's wedding)
8th Brown after wife's maiden name
9th Mary
10th Betsy
11th Susannah
12th Richard
13th Charles Robinson
14th Susannah
15th Richard
Anyway the Job in the paper was a draper. Many of John's sons became drapers. There is a Fanny Robinson connected with this Job's side of the family. Job is too young to be John's father. I have never found the connection between the 2 men but it has started me wondering again.
