Oz, you lot have obviously got nothing better to do than sport........sorry wrong word - they all get paid one way or another. But there again you boast of having the weather which could be considered as an unfair advantage.

I played rugby for the love of the game and with passion...........not to mention a couple of pints after which was much needed after a hard week's work, a concept all those in Delhi haven't experienced yet.

Cynical celt.

Yes mate we do have the best weather to practice our paid sport, but you have to admit we are 'so good' considering our small population base.:2fun::2fun:

Yep, couldn't agree more Oz. Medals per head of population is quite amazing.:biggrin:

Still see the Commonwealth games a bit pointless, but it's a good training session for the Olympics, when the athletes are up against 'the whole world'.

Don't want to spoil the athletes achievements at the 'Commy' games, and well done to them all.:)

There are a host of Athletes who wouldn't or couldn't compete at the Olympics for whatever reason, so good on them all.:)

Now where's my joggers, need to get in training.

The best per head capita of all the nations was...................................................wait for it

WALES!!

I think the expression Oz is that our small country can be more productive than wide open sun-drenched places.

Just a thought!

We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides, we'll keep a welcome in the dales!!

Oz & Pom Steve, it is obvious that history is not your strong point but I'm too old to start teaching now, even though I am still in my prime. The reason why I and many thousands were forced to leave our homeland is down to the single word "WORK" or the lack of it, and that is true today as it was when I was a young 17year old, tall, good looking and never been kissed before I joined the Army.
However I still have the "HIRAETH", which you don't have.:2fun::2fun::biggrin::biggrin:

Brian

I have a chance to get a ticket for Australia against Wales, but the travel etc may not be worth it.................New Zealand or South Africa maybe??:2fun::2fun:

Well brian you shouldn't be homesick now as your not looking for work anymore. Can't you just get packed up and go back home,I don't think your presence is required that much in England anymore.

Oz, just a bit of useless info - my homeland has been devastated by the progress of technology - sad fact though it is, and yes I do miss the place on occasion. I only spent 26 years of my life in the place I called home, and still do, but for me I am adaptable living where-ever (ex-soldier see).

I also remember the Swimming pool being built in Cardiff for the 1958 Commonwealth Games which has gone with the newly built Millenium Stadium taking over much of the ground. Can't remember if I had my breakfast though!!

Based on medals per capita.............CYMRU AM BYTH!!

God bless Wales too, with the huge turn down in the Welsh economy in the coal mining area's that must be why my G/Grandparents moved from Wales to Australia.

God bless Australia too for them being able to come here.

Oz, this is what I like about this site, I have a chance to educate people. I'm an ex-soldier and my back is permanently against a wall (no need for eyes in the back of your head, see) so I shall always see you coming, even in camouflage!:2fun: You really would need to get up early to catch me out, especially at my young age as well!!:2fun::2fun::biggrin::biggrin:
