cooper/mancetter warks.

could anyone help me on birth of william cooper he was born around 1740 mancetter warks - cannot get birth parents, thank you.

I have looked on the IGI and the Hugh Wallis website of IGI batch numbers for Mancetter itself and the only William Cooper baptised in the village was in 1777.

Are you sure that he was from there? I take it did you found a marriage or burial for him in Mancetter?

hi benny! yes the one you found is his son, the marriage i found was on the web and his wife was alice jeffcote, but it had alice born in mancetter and william as OF mancetter- so i dont think he could have been born there - he obviously had all his children there but i cant find death either, the only way i got his birth date was from his marriage, regards c.

Cooper is quite a common name unfortunately. You could try looking for any other people with the same surname as William to see if they are related. This would make it much easier to trace his place of origin, ie through marriage witness names etc.

hi I just had a look at that info Ive gathered on cooper,s but no luck .Im after my dad,s family.
George h d cooper 1918 born at Itchen hampshire.his birth c says 37 smith cottage st mary extra.
I have his dad thomas b1884..his henry t b1874 .. his robert b1791 nearly all of them in st maryextra .
So Im looking for info on any living cooper.

hi glen, my coopers are from near nuneaton warks, apart from the earliest i have found william b 1742 which i cannot find anywhere! only know he married a alice jeffcote in mancetter near atherstone, so if you come across it please let me know, kind regards and good luck with your search, c.

HI re William I had to look on a map I got to find the area for your William Im in AUS so get lost over there if I go away from Southampton.
I had a look at my lot the only W Cooper I have is William Frank Cooper b1900 married my dad's sister Dorothy Leticia b1911 in 1930.
I have not found him anywere else in my search I will have a look to see where he came from. Glen
