Thanks Geoff.

I did look but I missed the birth on FreeBMD.

Re Cooper births, not that many with mmn Terry.

Ernest A J 1925 Croydon seemed a possible.

Yeah, was thinking more if Harold was with Dorothy in the 1920's, I couldn't see any E/R's where he was with a Dorothy or a Frances/Emma?

The earliest I can see Harold and Dorothy together is 1936, if Ernest was a sibling of Joan he would only be 11y and Joan 16-17y.

Thanks Geoff.

Harold with Dorothy in 1939 and I can stop searching the index for a possible match with Emma/Frances.

I still think that death as Carter looks possible.

Dorothy K Perry [dob 16 08 1898]
Buckinghamshire, England

There must be another Harold Cooper who married a Dorothy Perry.

We know Dorothy and Harold are together from 1936 and she is using Cooper, in 1946 she is using Perry.. Neither of them seen yet in 1939?

Looks like Dorothy K is Perry in Bucks in 1939. Inputting exact dob gets a hit in the index on FMP.

A Dorothy K Perry with the matching dob is living in Bucks in 1939 judging by the FMP index.

Death is after 1991 so the record would normally be closed. ??

Thanks Geoff.

FMP gets me one hit for Harold using 9 Oct 1898 but I can't read the blurred details.

Oh. I missed a little box. The variations box was checked for Harold. Unchecking that box gets no hits.

If he is there then dob does not match the one on death reg.

And the one in post #52 must be the correct one with the DoB Aug 1898.. The reason for the Bucks address is likely to be something to do with the war effort..

If Harold was still officially listed as a serviceman he may not show in the 1939 register?
