Im looking fo a little help with birth records for
Margaret Blenkarn (poss middle name Rose) Year of birth 1881
Frederick Blenkarn
both born England Parents are listed as Alfred Elston Blenkarn & Annie Peart.

I have frederick's date of birth,08/03/1888. I got this from his army records. but I would like to have the records on my family tree.

Some things are not falling into place. The name has many variations.

I can't find Alfred & Annie in 1881 nor can I find their children Horace Wm, Alfred S, George G, and Florence. This is the marriage:

I can't find anything that hasn't been found and nothing at all on the 1891 census. This makes me wonder if they emigrated between 1881 and 1891.

I cannot find any of them in 1881, not Alfred & Annie nor any of their children Horace, Alfred, George or Florence all born before 1881.

Possible 1889 shipping record but only two possible fits for children. One of the infants would be Frederick born 1888 and the 8 yo could be Margaret. So when did Horace, Alfred, George and Florence arrive? Or are the ages all mixed up? Or are the 6, 5 & 3 yo and the other infant children of Mr J & spouse? Neither the 45 or 34 for Mrs fits with age at death for Annie.

I think you may have partially cracked it. Only the O in Harn is different.

1881 census down as Blenker RG11-687-60-45.

EDIT there are three trees on A.... one hasn't got children of Alfred and Annie, the other two finnish at Florence, ie they don't have Margaret or Frederick. TCould this mean this family emigrated some time shortly after 1881, and Margaret and Frederick are children from another family

No, they are both younger children of Alfred E & Annie.

Alfred E's parents are Alfred Bower & Mary Ann PAGE.

The shipping record is a real puzzle. Being unassisted the info comes from sources such as newspapers and as a result lacks details such as given names. Possibly the ages are based on the reporters guess and not on any documentation. I'm not sure. I think it's them but there appears to be two families. That's why I wondered if Alfred had a brother with a name starting with J. Another son of Alfred Bower BLENKARN & Mary Ann PAGE.

Hiya x sorry I have only just logged on for today been out for the day.

I have not had chance to read all the posts yet but a few things I scan read off them....... is it possible the children are not belonging to Alfred Elstone Blenkarn and Annie Peart....... this is one thing I had thought myself untill I printed out Frederick's Australian Imperial Force Records.... the following information was in the record...

Born Tottenham England
Next of kin - sister Margaret Tovey
Joined 29/04/1915
Date of birth 08/03/1888

Service record 1940
next of kin sister Florence Leitch

And then there is A death notice for another child of theres with these two listed .......


Deaths ;
Blenkarn - On January 24th at private hospital, Malvern, Horace William beloved husband of the late Blanche, loving father of Dudley ( deceased ) loved brother of George, Fred, Alfred ( deseased ), Florence Leitch ( deceased ) and Margaret Tovey, dear uncle of Mark & Edna Tovey.
