Hi Spike :)
Could this be your Harriet?? 1871 census
62 High St Kirkleatham
Harriett (my grandees name with 2 t's :))
11 yrs bn East Coatham
James 47 railway truck inspector bn Castleton
Elizabeth Coulson 46 bn Durham
Mary Ann 13, Jane 7 both bn E. Coatham
(Jane poss servant in 1891 census in Dorset)

1861 James okies with surname, the rest are??
Looking at census, writing so faded, not surprising errors.

I hope this helps.
1891 by the way James & Eliz still going.

Hi All

Thanks for all the info you have given me , will have to digest it all , then put the info into my , ( Family Tree Maker ).
Then I will see what direction I will be going next , the coulson part is on my grandmothers side , my main research is on the Binns family following the male side , but at each male I doing one run into the wifes family side hence the Coulson side .
I have some info on the binns in the York and Leeds area . it is getting both interesting and difficult has I go on .
But again thanks to All for your help I am sure that I will be asking for it again if you dont mind that is .

cheers

Yes, Richard Hedley Archer Coulson was my father
Re John George Barnwell Coulson,he was my father's twin brother born 13th November 1907 in Middlesborough,Ironically I was born on the 13th of November 1946!.
My father also had a sister Helen (Bunty) who married David Prosser and they lived in Helensborough just outside Glasgow

I am also very interested to find out more about my Grandparents families especially my Grandmothers family the Barnwells, I do know that my uncle was articled to his uncle George Barnwell who was a Solicitor practicing in Saltburn about 1925,he was at that time living at a house in Saltburn called "Laurieston" which I believe is now private retirement home

best wishes

Adrian Coulson
