Hi All, me again.
Christmas out of the way, so back to the grindstone.

Just a little confirmation please.

William Coupleditch 1892 (Royal Fusilliers G/5222)
married in 1915? to Hilda Stevens.

Could you possibly confirm my Couppleditch 'findings' please.

Father - Thomas - b. New York - 1862
Mother - Emma - 1865 - London.
Brother - Robert Frank b.? (RGA 140th heavy battery. 293215 and 2020)

I have an address of 43, Osterley Park Rd. Southall. London.

I'm not sure if I have my wires crossed.

Thanks

Hi Prisboy

Are you looking to find him on the 1901 census at all? What exactly are you trying to confirm about him? Is it his parentage?

Is the address you gave from his wedding cert?

Ben

Hi Ben,
William married my Gt.Aunt Hilda. Q2 1915. UXBRIDGE.
I have a photo of the wedding.

Yes, his parents and hopefully their address.

All the info I have came of his military records.

I cannot seem to find him, nor his parents on the 1901 census.

Steve.

Thanks you millions. You are an absolute star.:'( :'( of joy.

I am in contact with his Gt.Grandaughter and Gt.Gt.Grandaughter who have been trying to do their family tree, they are going to be over the moon.

All I have to do now is place the photo to the address (it still exists), and i will be happy.

Thank you so much.

Steve.

Congratulations Steve on behalf of Juliejtp

Have you got his marriage certificate to Hilda Stevens? If not, it is wise to send off for it as this will no doubt give you more info on tracing him and finding an address.

Hi benny,

William Couppleditch and Family eventually moved to Norfolk, his Gt.grandaughter has most. if not all recent history. But she had trouble going back beyond Williams marriage to my Gt.Aunt Hilda.

Strange thing though, his Gt.Gt.Grandaughter has moved from S.Africa to Lincolnshire, where her Gt.Gt.Gt.Grandfather came from originally. (Full circle).
As you can see Couppleditch was not a very common name back then, but severly and badly transcribed.

I would have never have dreamed of looking at Julie's suggestion, and that has taught me a big lesson. LOOK at everything.

No doubt I will be asking more from you marvellous people as I am a complete novice. But I suppose everyone has to start somewhere.

Thanks again benny.

Steve.

Hi

I am John , Great grandson of William (1892). He did Marry Hilda, ( my great nan). William died in 1922 as a result of his injuries in ww1. His name appears on a war memorial in the chapel at Ealing hospital . As you are probably aware William and Hilda had two children ( Cedric william Charles born 1920 -died 1989) and Druce (born around 1922) Hilda went onto re marry ( Harry ordway). I know the couppleditch family prior to moving to london were based in lincs. That is as far as I have got. I know a section of the family lived in princes risborough for some time too.

if there is anything else I can tell you please let me know

JOHN

Hi John,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I've just come out of hospital.
I am descended from Hilda's sister, Julia Stevens, who was my grandmother.

When you have 2 more 'posts' on here, we can 'connect' more easily.
I cannot sit too long at my study desk for too long, due to my surgery......so keep coming back.
I'll try and get back on here monday evening.

Hi Steve

Sounds painful, get well soon.

I thought that may have been the connection. I would love to see that wedding photo of Hilda and William. You may be completely up to date with everything but Hilda died in december 1975 ( when I was ten, so i do not remember much of the funeral and who was there. Hilda up to the point she passed away was living in Havelock Road, Southall a few doors away from her son and my grandad ( Cedric william charles couppleditch) I will have to ask my dad ( Ray ) Hilda's grandson, if he remembers his Great Aunt Julia.

You must have been in contact (from what you said in your previous messages to others ) with Hilda's other grandchildren. I know Druce had two girls Denise and Sandra , Denise did live in south africa and was/is married to Rod ( not seen them since the early 1980's) they had two girls themselves Shelley and I cant remeber the other girls name. I am sorry to say that I do not even know if Druce is still alive ( she would be about 90 now and she lived in lowestoft area of suffolk. Not sure where sandra lives either.

Would be great to talk some more

Regards JOHN

Hi John,

Yep, in contact with Denise and her daughter Nicole. I've got a few pics that I would love to pass on to you.
The wedding pic is a corker, and I've also one of William in his uniform, and one of Hilda looking very elegant.
Also a couple with 'Drucy' and Denise as a baby with my Granny Julia in her back garden.
I'm not totally up to date, but I think Drucy died in 2003, in Norfolk.

Put in another post, and I can pass these pics and other info onto you in a PM (PrivateMessage).

Steve.:)
