Has anyone come across any of their ancesters that have had their occupation stated as "cowboy" on the census?

I was just thinking about it today after i come across a USA census today that had cowboy for a occupation. Wondered if it was like in the western movies for them Saloon bar fights and other saloon bar activities and what about shoot outs
I was raised watching cowboy movies, maybe i seen to many of them

I have a couple of Cow Keepers. Also in their families were Milkmen so they kept the cows, milked them and sold the milk
