Hello cp,

Thanks for looking.

Some things don't add up. Albury and date could be errors.

Marriage # 2672/1881 TAPP CHARLES PALMER CATHERINE S ALBURY

Birth # 20372/1881 TAPP FRANK PALMER CHARLES CATHERINE SARAH MOLONG

It's possible he died in 1880 but Palmer, SA ?? Dubious. :D

The Sydney Morning Herald - Tuesday 29 January 1918
DEATHS
TAPP.-January 24, 1918 at Ryde, Catherine Sarah, wife of Charles Tapp, formerly of Cudal, at the age of 64 years.

I read that to mean Charles is still alive.

Death # 7540/1921 TAPP CHARLES F FRANK P EDITH R WINDSOR ??

Birth V18552866 56/1855 TAPP CHARLES FRANK MARY A

If they married in 1877 then I can only see the one birth in 1881.

Cudal/ Molong / Orange all together. Albury makes no sense. It's not the only Albury one I have that seemed out of place.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Albury is not out of the question after all.

Catherine Sarah and Sophia Susannah are sisters.

1913 N.S.W Electoral Roll - ALBURY—WYMAH POLLING-PLACE
47 PALMER Sophia Susannah, Wagra, domestic duties

Hi Dave

Do you know his occupation.
No George POWELL in (WILLYAMA—WILCANNIA POLLING-PLACE), one in Salisbury Downs. Otherwise too many George Powell's to pinpoint to your George.

1913 N.S.W Electoral Roll - WILLYAMA—SALISBURY DOWNS POLLING-PLACE
34 Powell George Salisbury blacksmith

Hello cp,

Sorry, I have nothing more. Given this just has Thomas and Elizabeth and not Thomas E and Elizabeth M it could even be a different George:

Death # 24470/1929 POWELL GEORGE THOMAS ELIZABETH WILCANNIA

And Wilcannia does not fit all the other family members - Waterloo, Leichhardt area of Sydney.

Birth # V1848690 33A/1848 POWELL GEORGE THOMAS E ELIZABETH
Twin of Emily H

Several other siblings can't be found after the birth reg. He is probably another.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

I can't see a marriage in England or find them in shipping records.

Middle name Cumberland for county in England or Co Cumberland in NSW?

Bathurst / Sofala I doubt is in Co Cumberland.

Roxburgh County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It includes the area to the north east of Bathurst, lying to the north and east of the Fish River to the junction of the Turon River. It includes Sofala.
I'm stuck and I can't take a deep breath.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

That 1913 E/R means this daughter had not died young:

Birth # 10115/1883 POWELL EDITH MILLICENT EYRE WILLIAM FRANCES C ST LEONARDS

I can't find a marriage or death with married name that fits.

Marriage
15012/1923 LLOYD NORMAN POWELL EDITH M MARRICKVILLE ??
18398/1928 COGAR REGINALD E POWELL EDITH M HURSTVILLE ??

Death 30563/1968 RIEDY EDITH MILLICENT AGED 86 YRS DIED ARNCLIFFE KOGARAH ?

One tree on the net has this marriage:

7857/1899 BRAY FREDERICK T POWELL EDITH M M BROKEN HILL

I think I've done enough for today. :D Look here:

http://www.normanlloyd.com.au/11.html

There is a record that Eda was previously married at sixteen to a Frederick Bray in Broken Hill in 1899. No record exists of this man, but I wonder if he did not return from the Great War. Interestingly, both sisters were substantially older than their husbands, facts that were never disclosed to their respective spouses.

Dave
