Elizabeth Dolbey bapt. 22 Dec 1810 Ely St Mary parents John and Alice

Daniel Haylock bapt. 26 May 1803 Ely St Mary parents Daniel and Sarah

Daniel Haylock born 1805 died 1832 buried 9 April 1832 Ely St Mary (Cholera)

I'm pretty sure this is the correct Daniel as I can't find him in 1841 and the only children I can find were born before 1832

William bapt 4 Mar 1829 Ely St Mary parents Daniel (Lab) and Elizabeth
Sarah bapt 29 July 1832 Ely St Mary parents Daniel (Lab) and Elizabeth

According to the 1851 Census Alice gives pob as Littleport 1786. I have checked the images of the register for Littleport from 1785 to 1788 and the only one I can find is a baptism for an Alice Hazlewood 29 July 1788 daughter of Robert and Elizabeth. I have also looked at the image of the original entry for Alice's marriage to John Dolbey and it definitely say Hazle.

Thanks, Em'..

I couldn't see him in 1841 either, can see why now..

If we have the correct William as John's father [other thread], hopefully Daniel is William's brother...

I have more than one line from Cambridgeshire, I'm lacking baptisms from Swaffham Bulbeck although the marriages are forthcoming.
I have ancestors from Stretham, Cottenham, Soham, Burwell Swaffham Prior and Bulbeck, and various other villages.
Some of the surnames you are asking for I have in my tree albeit from different villages.

The Daniel Haylock born 1803 and died 1832 was the son of Daniel Haylock, a Labourer, who married a Sarah Haylock 19 Dec 1798 in Ely St Mary.

Daniel and Sarah had the following children, all baptised Ely St Mary

Sarah 19 Mar 1799
William 11 Oct 1801
Daniel 26 May 1803
Mary 15 Feb 1806 - 3 Nov 1807
Mary 28 April 1809
Robert 2 Dec 1812
Rebecca 20 June 1815
Thomas 9 Nov 1818

So Daniel (1803) did have an older brother William - how does that fit into the scheme of things?

Amanda, don't know if you are aware or not but images of the BTs for Swaffham Bulbeck are available to view on familysearch.

fs have made the digitised images of many places available in their Catalog. If there is a camera next to the entry then it is (mostly) available for viewing. You may have to create a fre account and log in before you can view them and some are only viewable in an FHS Centre, but there is a lot out there. Nothing has been indexed so it is very hit and miss finding what you want, but not impossible.

There is a baptism in Soham for a William Haylock 3 Feb 1754 parents Thomas and Sarah

There is a marriage in Soham for a William Haylock to a Marry Torrington 11 Oct 1773

The following children baptised Soham parents William and Mary
William 1773
Martha 1775
Mary 1778
Sarah 1780
Elizabeth 1782
Samuel 1783
Ann 1787
John 1788

A death in Soham for a Mary Haylock born 1756 buried 3 Mar 1818

I can also find a baptism for a Daniel Haylock 29 April 1776 in Ely with parents John and Sarah.

So it is possible that the William who died 1838 may have been Sarah's father.

Still a little fragile.. but:

If that William is the father of John b. c1832 and a shoemaker and, Daniel is the same one as this [witness], then there is hope
