Hi Dave

I can't see Daniel in 1871 & 1881. So where is he.

1901 has a Daniel CRAIG b.1866 Paisley married to Jane. Problem is he could be the other Daniel born same year & place with parents John & Hannah.

cheers
cp

Hello cp,

Thanks for looking. Well, I don't know where he is in the years in between but he was in Renfrew in 1923:

Bridge of Weir is a village in Renfrewshire. He may have married.

Can't be this one:

Daniel CRAIG & JEAN JOHNSTONE
Marriage: 19 DEC 1864 High Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland

Well, is there a 2nd couple John & Hannah? Are there other children to a John & Hannah.
Same date, same place, same father's name. ???

Yes there is:

John CRAIG & ANN STEWART
Marriage: 14 DEC 1866 Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland

Can't find a birth for a Daniel to parents John & Ann / Hannah.

Not Paisley:

Daniel Craig
Scotland Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950
birth: 24 Jan 1866 — NEILSTON, RENFREW, SCOTLAND
residence: Renf, Scotland
parents: William Craig, Christina Mcfarlane

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

The John Craig in 1871 1st wife is Margaret as per 1861. The children Agnes, John, Andrew and Margaret more or less match the chidren in 1871. Johns second marriage could be to a Hannah Mcewan. Hannahs pob is given as Ireland.

Hello Julie,

Sorry, but you have lost me. I don't have any John CRAIG in any census.

I have this marriage and this birth:

Janet ARROL & John CRAIG
16 Sep 1864 High Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland

Daniel McCallum CRAIG b. 5 Jan 1866 High Church Paisley, Renfrew d. 1937 Paisley
-parents John CRAIG & Janet AIROL [ARROL]

Janet died in 1868 in Paisley.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Ok, now I'm half lost. :2fun:

The father of Daniel McCallum is unlikely to have remarried in 1866 because his spouse didn't die until 1868.

I have Daniel at age 25 so where was he aged about 5 and 15 ?

John CRAIG & HANNAH MCEWAN
Marriage: 25 MAY 1869 Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland

Ok, that marriage is after. :)

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

The 16 Sep 1864 marriage and Daniel's birth 5 Jan 1866.

So the next possibility is that John married 3 times and that he had children from the first marriage, Daniel Mc from his second, then married 3rd time to Hannah in 1869.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

Yes, there is a Sir Michael street in Paisley and Greenock. I think on some maps in Paisley it's called place not street.

The only family I know is the Cochran one in 1881.

Regards,

Dave
