I have details of the discharge from the Merchant Navy of Harold William Arber 1902-1954 London.

What I have is:

Merchant Seamen Records

Event. Military Service.
Year Range 1921-1941
United Kingdom.
Birthplace, London.
Birth Year 1902
Discharge Number 1087314
Card Type. CR1.

Can anyone narrow down the date of his discharge please?

On FMP there are two copies of his seaman's card, the second one has on it "Copy renewal original lost" and is stamped 25 JAN 1930 so presumably he was still at sea then.

PS he was 5ft 8in, brown eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, tattoo right arm of sailors grave

background info :
there is another card stamped with the date of engagement, 13 JAN 1925, London Victoria Docks, serving as an OS (ordinary seaman) on vessel 144349 (this is the Narenta registered London). This gives his discharge number.

then the next card is stamped 8 May 1925 with details of description and discharge number and he has signed " I certify I have not received a continuous certificate of discharge for the following reason, no foreign voyage"

Then the card mentioned in previous post is a 1930 copy of above info.
