Hello Julie,

Thank you very much.

I think I'm right this time. Ann's brother Robert:

1861
Civil Parish: Dunfermline Landward
County: Fife
Address: Elgin Colliery
MOODIE Robert head 1835 age 26 Coal Engine Keeper Dunfermline, Fifeshire
MOODIE Agnes wife 1835 age 26 Preston Paris, Midlothian
MOODIE John son 1856 age 5 Dunfermline, Fifeshire
MOODIE Margt daur 1858 age 3 Dunfermline, Fifeshire
MOODIE Robert son 1860 age 1 Dunfermline, Fifeshire

Ann's parents in 1861 - Could you please check if the address is correct.

1861
Civil Parish: Dunfermline Landward
County: Fife
Address: Milesmark
MOODIE James head 1796 age 65 Black Smiths Lab Carnock, Fifeshire
MOODIE Jane wife 1811 age 50 Carnock, Fifeshire

I'm curious if there is a Milesmark in Dunfermline and Inverkeithing because this is 1851:

1851
Civil Parish: Inverkeithing
Town: Milesmark
County: Fife
Address: Milesmark
MOODIE James 1795 age 56 Engineman Coal Dunfermline, Fife
Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Looks like there are 2 of that name one in Dunfermline Landward the other Inverkeithing. The address for 1861 is correct as per the transcription.

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

Actually. It looks as if it is ONE place: :D

Milesmark, a village on the mutual border of Dunfermline parish and Inverkeithing (detached), Fife, 1¾ mile WNW of Dunfermline town. It stands conjoint with Parknook or Blackburn village, and adjoins the Elgin Colliery.
Regards,

Dave
