Another very hot day today and even with 4 case fans running (usually 2) my video card is running at about 60 C  I'll be here for short spells.

Spouse Elisabeth's parents - James & Elisabeth so can we get David's parents from the children's names?

Elisabeth b. 23 Aug 1816 Torryburn

Thanks Geoff.

Then it would be this one and several things don't fit:

David Christie Stewart 1897 age 76 Dunfermline ??

Kinghorn is not Dunfermline.

Alexander Milne
marriage: 30 June 1871 Dunfermline, Fife
spouse: Margaret Stewart

Alexander's mother is a Christian STEWART so Graham not from there.

Births Jun Qtr 1872
MILNE Elizabeth S. Shields 10a 811

Elizabeth Sands Graham MILNE
1873-1951
Born: Hebburn, Durham, England
Died: newcastle upon tyne

Oh damn tree author is adding middle names that don't exist. One of my pet hates. They are added to indicate a married name:

Marriages Dec Qtr 1891
Graham Alexander Newcastle T. 10b 62
Milne Elizabeth Newcastle T. 10b 62

So tracing Elizabeth is no help finding David's mother's maiden name.

Yes Geoff. That lead me up the garden path without a spade. :2fun:

Damn tree author adding a married name as a middle name.

Well, at least I found a marriage for Margaret.

The tree does not help with James born abt 1844. Curious he is the only one of 8 with no full date of birth or baptism. No trace of him in Scotland after 1881. I've not tried England yet.

James is the odd one out. This is the first:

William STEWART b. 19 Sep 1841 Dunfermline, Fife

David STEWART & Elisabeth SANDS
24 Jul 1841 Dunfermline, Fife

If the naming pattern was followed and we are not missing any children then:

William - (David's father)
James - mother's father
Elisabeth - mother's mother
Margaret - (David's mother)

The tree lists the death only for daughter Margaret (MILNE).

I can't find Mary after 1881:

1881
Civil Parish: Dunfermline
County: Fife
Address: 22 Martyns Place
David Stewart Head 59 Slater Dunfermline
Euphemia dau 26 Hosekeeper Dunfermline
Mary dau 24 Factory worker Dunfermline
Kate dau 22 Factory worker Dunfermline

I have Euphemia and Kate together in 1901, both still unmarried.
