I'm looking for the death of my Grandmother Georgina Carter(nee Wray) b1887 in Wilderspool (Runcorn District Volume 8A Page 212).She married John Carter (b1885 in Warrington) in 1907 in Warrington(Volume 8c Page 324) and sometime after 1914 (when my father was born in Warrington) they move to Manchester. In the 1960's they are living in Levenshulme,Manchester and my Grandad dies mid 60's.My Grandmother moved in with one of her daughters in Cheadle,Cheshire and died sometime in the late 60's but I cannot trace where exactly.Hoping someone can help. Thank you for supplying that information.Where would it be possible to find out where she was buried/cremated or is that not possible. Brian.
She is not listed as being buried in any of the Manchester Municipal Cemeteries and she was not cremated in Manchester either. Possibly she could have been buried in a church plot...but even in the 1970's they would be quite a few to choose from. If her husband died in Manchester, it is possible she was buried with him.

Failing that she may have been buried in the Stockport area. There is a list of some cemeteries here.

Hi gerard. As she died at her daughters in Cheadle,I have a feeling she may have been buried in Cheadle Cemetery, possibly in the same grave as my Uncle John carter who died in the late 1950's.I will have to email Stockport.Gov and find out if they have any records for plots for Cheadle Cemetery.Once again, thanks.
Brian.

I would have thought that the Park Road Cemetery was the most likely, but as you are applying to the same office, if she is not there also try the main Cemetery and Crematorium. I cannot remember how much it costs but £15 to £30 is a figure that springs to mind.

Hi Gerard.I sent an email to the Stockport Cemeteries websites last night in the vain hope that they might have something on record for my Grandmother and blow me down but they replied today with the Grave No,Section Number, names, ages and dates of death of the people who are interred in that grave. Also attached was a map of the cemetery with the various locations.Talk about unbelievable, and what was best was the fact that my Grandfather,Uncle Tom and Auntie Winnie are buried in the same grave, and I have been searching high and low for their death details and locations for over 6 months now.I think I can put this to bed now and thanks to all concerned for their help. Brian Carter.

Well that is brilliant Brian...and all for free. Hats off to to SMBC Bereavement Services. If it was the Park Road Cemetery, it's a lovely well kept place.
