Hello,

04/09/1825 SWAN MARGARET - GROWNDSTON / DAVID SWAN F MARKINCH /FIFE 447/00 0070 0044

I'm a bit puzzled by that death record.

I have a David SWAN married to a Margaret GRUNDISTONE (variations) although I don't have the actual marriage. I have three children for them - Henry, James and Andrew. Is it likely that is the death of their unmarried daughter?

Or could it be their daughter with maiden name recorded as Growndston and married to David SWAN? Coincidence her father's name is the same.

Dave

It isn't the wife then Dave, sorry not knowing the timescale of this family I am not sure. Could be the daughter with father's name mentioned as she was a child maybe?

I've edited the original post by putting in a '-' to indicate that Margaret is the only given name and that GROWNDSTON is in the other column.

I'm using my remaining credits with care. :D

Margaret Thallan looks to have died in Kilmany Parish 1787, looks like 7 Dec on the image (parish entry), no age given...

Thanks Geoff.

They are siblings I didn't have.

I have purchased and used some credits over the past week. I've been busy on ScotlandsPeople. Now I have 4 more certificates I can't read.

I have a few credits left but I'm not sure I'll use any for this problem. As well as the one I posted there are these two deaths:

05/11/1827 SWAN MARGARET - GEORGE SWAN - F - MARKINCH /FIFE 447/00 0070 0062

Probably an infant daughter with father's name listed

15/11/1827 SWAN MARGARET - F - MARKINCH /FIFE 447/00 0060 0142

Can't tell with that one.

Even this death is an odd one with the mother's maiden name listed:

Death 1857 SWAN ANDREW - GRANDISON - M 71 MARKINCH /FIFE 447/00 0070
