A tree has this as the marriage but I can't find it:

A tree has no maiden name for Mary and no death for William or Mary.

Only children shown are Edward b. 1831 and Sarah Ann b. 1846 but can't find that one. I wonder if the gap means William married a 2nd Mary. ??? That's one way to explain the gap and the BANKS/THWAITES issue.

There must be children missing from the tree because Sarah is listed as the youngest daughter.

Possible being the closest to THWAITES but it's not RD Cockermouth.

William Dixon
England, Marriages, 1538–1973
marriage: 29 May 1830 Bootle, Cumberland
spouse: Mary Braithwaite

Not this one based on place of origin:

Admiral Lyons - Arrived 30 Dec 1858

However is 1846 correct for Sarah. I can't find a birth reg 1846 +/- 3 years to fit.

A Sarah who fits or Sarah DIXON is too common a name:

1841
HO107/0161/f14
Hare Hounds Inn Crosthwaite
William Dixon 55 Inn Keeper Yes
Mary 45 Yes
Mary 20 Yes
Sarah 6 Yes

Did William & Mary both die 1841-1851?

If the tree is correct William was born abt 1786 and Mary abt 1796. That would make William & John the same generation. ???

Sarah Ann Dixon
England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 24 May 1835 Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England
residence: Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England
parents: William Dixon, Mary

The tree has born Swinside for Sarah so this one then and 1846 must be based on age in census. But, is it the right Sarah who ended up in NSW?

1851
name: Sarah Dixon
age: 5
gender: Female
birthplace: Swinside, Cumberland
relationship to head of household: Daughter
record type: Household

This looks like another one but again no maiden name for Mary.

William Dixon
England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 23 Jan 1848 Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England
residence: Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England
parents: William Dixon, Mary

I can't find a birth reg that fits for that one either.

William junior possibly died before 1851.

At least there is one who could fit but I can't find a William DIXON & Mary THWAITES marriage.

Mary Thwaites
England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 17 Nov 1791 CROSTHWAITE,CUMBERLAND,ENGLAND
parents: Robert Thwaites, Eleanor Skillbeck

From the marriage father = William of Keswick and had died by 1865.

Deaths 16x William DIXON 1838-1865 in RD Cockermouth.

Sarah Ann is listed as being 28 in 1865 - mother = Mary THWAITES.

No age at death for Sarah Ann and nothing to prove the tree is correct in saying William was an Innkeeper.
