Not this one - wrong parents

MACDONALD Cecil William Death notice 16NOV1968 Publication late of Summer Hill Sydney Morning Herald 16NOV1968

Different middle initial but in the right area of NSW:

Cecil Roderick MacDonald 1930 New South Wales Hume

Age rules that one out:

MACDONALD Cecil Roderick Death notice 27JUL1957 Death 70 late of Quirindi Sydney Morning Herald 29JUL1957

Hello Val,

Thank you very much.

There are two O.H. Furners:

Oswald Hubert (1865-1923) was an auctioneer in Goulburn. His mother was Elizabeth Annabella STORRIER, my great-great grandmother.

Oscar Hayward (1883-1961) was a farmer in the Coolamon area.

Birth 14032/1890 MACDONALD ELLIE L - DONALD - MARY - GOULBURN ** 26 Dec 1889

Yes, an error in the death reg. It is William Frederick. The family name has about 6 variations in NSW records including this one:

Baptisms in the Parish of Goulburn in the County of Argyle in the Year 1853
William Frederick - William Storey & Louisa Smith Abode: Goulburn Quality or Profession: Digger When Born: June 13th 1853 When Baptised: July 8th 1853 By whom the Ceremony was performed: John Kavanagh

1921 QLD Electoral Roll - Kennedy - Winton
STORRIER Hubert Patrick, Elderslie st., Winton, saddler

Hubert Patrick died in Winton but he is not on the list of burials there.

Hi Dave,
reckon have cracked John Joseph Lyons for you..

Long Obituary on mother Mrs B Lyons in Argyle Liberal & District Recorder Fri 18 Feb 1910 mentioning all the family ie leaves a husband and five sons, Patrick, James, Tom, Michael and Willie, interesting that she has no mention of son John Joseph.. as NSW BMD has

10164/1871 LYONS JOHN JOSEPH - PATRICK & ANNIE – GOULBURN – aha.. John Joseph was not her son as a Patrick Lyons married a Annie Naughton 1868 Goulburn and a death for a Anne Lyons Goulburn 1873 looks like in childbirth with a male infant for Patrick & Annie

Patrick Lyons remarried to Ann Maria Broderick 1875 Goulburn – her death 1910 Crookwell Anne M Lyons – parents Michael & Mary A. – her Orbit says she was born in USA.

Hi Dave,
Goulburn Herald Fri 26 Nov 1897 - Wedding
YESTERDAY Miss Julia M. Storrier, youngest daughter of the late Mr. W. T. Storrier of Mummel, was married by the Rev. Father Donovan at the Roman Catholic Church, Mummell, to Mr. John Lyons of Crookwell. The bride, appropriately attired, was led to the altar by her elder brother, Mr. Henry Storrier, who gave her away. The ceremony was witnessed by a large concourse of friends from Goulburn, Crookwell, Gullen, and Mummell. After the ceremony a large number of friends partook of a sumptuous breakfast under a canvas awning at the residence of the bride's mother. The Rev. Father Donovan presided, and proposed the toast of the Bride and Bridegroom, to which Mr. J. Lyons responded. Mr. O. Furner proposed the Health of the Parents of the Bride and Bridegroom, and spoke in high term of their many estimable qualities. Messrs. J. S. and John Storrier responded. Mr. J. Broderick J P. of Loughrea, Crookwell, proposed in felicitous terms the toast of the Chairman, and the Rev. Father Donovan appropriately responded. In the evening a large number of young friends were entertained by Mrs. Storrier at a dance, and a most pleasant time was spent.

On John Joseph’s Orbit in 1940 has him at the beginning as John Lyons.. MR. The late Mr. Lyons, who was twice married, his first wife having predeceased him by 23 years, is survived by a widow and three sons of his first marriage. Alan (Goulburn), Roy (Bungonia) and Stanley. (Moree).

Many thanks Val.

The year in the index is the year of registration. The full date you get is supposed to be the date of the event not the date of registration. Married on the 25th but NSW BMD returns a date of 28th. I would say that's an error from the time the index was created and the date has been entered as 28.

I will email NSW BMD. It will be the fifth email sent since 9 September to which I've had no replies yet.

Dave
