Heard—On the 19th August, at his residence,
Mount Aropiles, near Horsham, after a
lingering illness, Samuel Heard, farmer,
aged 67 years, formerly of Holsworthy,
County of Devonshire, England. He arrived
in Victoria in 1844, and was a resident of
the Barrabool Hills, near Geelong, for many
years. Home papers please copy.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Louisa Heard, an old resident of the
Wimmera, widow of the late Mr. Samuel
Ascot Heard, passed away at the residence
of Mrs. Johns, Clear Lake, last week. The
funeral took place on Friday, the place of
interment being the Noradjuha cemetery.
The burial service was conducted by
Captain Aitken. Mrs. Heard was greatly
respected in Clear Lake and Lowan dis-
tricts, where several of her children reside.
