Does anyone have any information about the family background of Dora Constance Powell who was born in Oxfordshire in 1893 and died in Gloucestershire in 1917 ? I have the newspaper report of her death and has started looking at census records but didn’t get very far before the lockdown of my county archive.
I know who her parents were and that she was the youngest of 6. I would like to know what her brothers and sisters were doing before the Great War. Also, does anyone know where she was buried? She died in Gloucestershire but I think her parents were living in Berkshire at this time. Many thanks

The 1901 census is a mess, I think the enumerator must of had few when he wrote it, Also the census on Ancestry has an extra child.

I've tird to work out who the children were.

Thank you so much for this. I already have the reports of her death from Wiltshire newspapers - she lived in Wiltshire at this time but died in Gloucestershire. I will order the source you indicate when my local library is open and the ILL system is operating. My local archive won’t have it as it’s in a different county!

Thank you so much for your hard work. As I am not conversant with family history protocols and abbreviations, I have sent your list to my niece who is. Dora was not a member of my family but I am very interested in her background as she died while working on the Land in the Great War ( my research topic). I was hoping to work out what kind of background she came from - her sisters would be important to work this out - where they in employment or the leisured daughters of a gentleman farmer. Hopefully, with your list, I will be able to answer this.
