Doris Brenda Davey 1922-2009

Hi, Is it possible to get some help on finding the birth town/city of my great grandmother (Doris Brenda Davey) Born around c1922 and died in Derby 2009 ive searched Ancestry and BMD records and can only find her Marriage details which were 1942 in Halisham,Sussex to Fred Cooper. I know she died in Derby but no clue on Birth place or her parents.

i have been advised she was from Kent but i contacted the registry office in Kent who looked at her marriage certificate and they advised she did not state who her father was or birthplace. i have also been advised she had an brother or uncle called Harold on her mothers side

Have you considered Doris B Davey birth registered 1st qtr 1920 Devonport Reg Dist mothers maiden name Trevaski?
I know it's 2 years out for your information but I would suggest you trace this one through life before dismissing it.

On the birth certificates of her children is she registered as just DAVEY??
The tree on ANC has her birth in Canada....??? and her mothers Christian name as Sally....??

Peter, it might be worth getting Doris's marriage certificate to see who the witnesses are and see what age she has noted on there for herself. Also if she was under 21 would she have to had permission to marry?

Im not real sure about the UK certificates the above was just a thought.

Can she be found on the 1939 register.

This request is for a friend.

Doris was his gran. when he contacted the registry office they looked at the marriage cert for him and there was hardly anything on it which to me is very strange. the ancestry tree is my friends and i pointed out he had put her birth as Kent in canada so he should be changing that to England. he has already cancled out the Devonport doris.

Following on from Admins post. The only marriage I can find between Male and Davey is this one.

Watson Male
Spouse Sallie Davey

Birth - Dec 1/4 - Poplar - 1890
Sallie Davey

Could be Watsons birth.

Watson Male - 1895 - Langport

Watson Davey ended up in Canada. His wifes name given on death registration is Tessie Franks. Parents Mark Male/Elizabeth Jeanes. Have drawn a blank on Sallie.

Do you know Doris date of birth?. It may be worthwhile getting Sallie Davey’s birth certificate to see if the birth dates match.

There is a Sallie Male on a passenger list for Canada 1926. Same year as Watson. Her year of birth is 10yrs out.
