The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954)
Thursday 8 October 1936

Miss Effie Duesbury, of Killara the great-great-granddaughter o; the founder of the Crown Derby pot- teries, which she visited during a recen' trip abroad.

Miss Duesbury not only has a link witt old England, but also a link with early AUS' tralla. The descendants of the founder o thc Derby potteries-her grandfather, grand mother, and their six children-came to Aus. tralla in 1864, the voyage taking five and i half months. Two of those children survive Mr. Lewis Duesbury, of Camden, and Mr Fred Duesbury, of Brisbane. Miss Duesbury'! father, the Rev. Frank Duesbury, of Sydney died in 1924.
Miss Duesbury's maternal grandfather Henry Carter Perdrlau, was also one of th( early settlers, and the owner of the first ferries which ran on Sydney Harbour.

Thanks gibbo. ;) Every little bit helps. So 1864 or 1865.

Were you alone here today? :2fun:

Did you realise both Gillies and Duesbury are connected to Perdriau?
