You have found their 2nd arrival. :2fun: I didn't have that one so thanks.

Samuel is listed as a photographer in the first published Queensland post office directory of 1868.

I think a child was born about 1866 in Qld. Will have to check BMD.

Although still listed in Queen St in the 1876 post office directory Samuel apparently sold out and disposed of all his negative plate stock around this time to Thomas Mathewson who advertised their availability for reprints. Sometime later Samuel traveled back to England with his wife and son Frederick.

Samuel, Esther and Frederick returned to Brisbane from England aboard the "Assel" arriving on 7 April 1880. After this Samuel appears to have resumed his former occupation as he is listed in the 1883 Post Office Directory as a woodcarver of Brunswick St.

Ok thanks. It seems it was 1865 or 1866. I've not yet checked the full date for the 1866 birth.

I could say second coming because son Frank was a minister - yes yet another one in my tree.

You seen this, interesting read.

Samuel DUESBURY was born 27 October 1822 in Manchester, the son of Samuel DUESBURY (a copperplate engraver) and Sarah BRADLEY. He married Esther PRYSE[1] on 18 July 1850 at the Unitarian Chappel, Upper Norfolk St, Sheffield and they had five children in Sheffield. Samuel was listed as a master wood carver in 1856 when he was living in Bierlow, Sheffield. He later became a photographer, the first evidence for this is a self-portrait on a mount that is imprinted "S. Duesbury, late G. C. Lewis at 11 College St, St. Albans". In 1865 he and Esther with their children migrated to Brisbane[2]. Esther gave birth to her sixth child in Australia during December 1965 but the child, named after his father, lived only 10 days.
