Hi, I wondered if anybody could help me to trace the maiden name of
my great ,great grandmother from the following information...
Joseph Eaton married Martha ? in 1830 ish in Whitchurch Shropshire they had a son John Eaton he was born in Whitchurch 1832 . I have tried many times but
can't find her name for certain, think it could be Martha James.

Thanks for your quick reply ,this seems to confirm that her name was James.
I don't have any record of John's birth only his later marriage, Many thanks for your kind help.

No problem, I did have a look around, but couldnt find a John baptism in Whitchurch, Shropshire, either. (but I did find him on the census, and he does give his POB as Whitchurch) I would say he was bapt under a different name, do you have any of his certificates at all? either a marriage or a death cert?
