Its was a Benedictine Priory and Mill now attached to Ecclesfield Hall. Close by is Ecclesfield Church which has 12th c Norman features but was built on the site of an earlier Saxon church and possibly a Romano/British one before that.

Since I started posting up photos on Time Walk page I've had loads of comments. One lady said she felt she was a tourist in her home town. Certainly making the point that there are a lot of lovely places within Sheffield Boundaries. Not sure where I am going tomorrow as although I have 3 people adding to the photos besides me I still have loads to take.

I shall have to look at my Pevsner Guide. Saturday I will be back at Attercliffe looking for the tomb of the inventor of crucible steel and whatever I can find that is interesting and unusual round there.
