On the back Edith Duncan Nee Packer Thomas Hedley's eldest sister Husband Olly Photo Possibly around 1925.

Thomas born abt 1869 Gloucestershire but ignore him please.

So Edith PACKER is older but may or may not have been born in Gloucestershire.

Looking for Edith's marriage to 'Olly' DUNCAN and her birth and death and her parents.

I have no info re place or date of marriage or where and when she died - nothing at all.

How is Thomas Headley related to Edith Packer? can't be a full brother with a different surname. also are you sure Olly is Edith's husband? Without punctuation in the writing it looks to me as if there could be 3 people on the photo:-
Edith Duncan nee Packer
Thomas Headley's elder sister
Husband Olly ( i.e. husband of elder sister)

Do you have the actual photo to see the people ?

I have not seen the photo but I think we might be able to find out if there are two or three in it.

Headley is a middle name. Known in various records as Thomas E., Hedley T., Edley T. PACKER. He was born abt 1869 Gloucestershire. Parents unknown. We have had no luck trying to find his parents by tracing him so I though we should try in a new topic by looking at his older sister Edith who married an 'Olly' DUNCAN.

I don't know if Edith was born Gloucestershire or not. Assuming she was born 1855 - 1869 in England. I don't know if 'Olly' is Oliver and Edith could even be a middle name.


So a DUNCAN - PACKER marriage 1873 - 1927 say.

Hi Dave according to someone in Anx Edith died in 1955 Free BMD say Middleton Lancashire.
In 1891 census there is Ellen Packer 58 wid in Huncoat Burnley Lancs with Edith 26 weaver THOMAS 22, Hy 24, Emily 18, Wm 20 men at the Lime Works all of them born Newent Gloucs!!
1881 father is Charles 54 agr labr they are in Malsbury Glocs.
Could this be your Edith & Thomas?? fingers crossed

But now I'm really confused. I can't see the photo so all I have is what I'm told is written on the back.

Can't be in England in 1891 census and in Australia to marry at same time so how can it be that family born Newent?

The details in post #1 either refer to 2 or 3 people.

Is it 2 or is it 3?

Who married 'Olly" and what is his surname?

This Edith was baptised as Ellen Edith at Taynton in 1865. She married George William Clapham in Blackburn in 1893, ran a chip shop and died in Haslingdon at the age of 90. Definitely no Duncan connection.
