I have Edith Blanch Holloway(born Kensington 1884) and family in 1901 living at 136, Shirland Rd. Paddington, London.

Is it possible to see if they are still there in 1911 please.

Elizabeth Holloway 46 ?

Alec C Holloway 22 ?

Stanley Holloway 16 ?
Reginald Holloway 11 ?

Plus any additional family/lodgers. Hoping that Sydney Thomas Bedford may be there.

Did you actually use the credits ?
I had a look for you. I had some spare credits,but they were not living at the address which you gave,it came up with another Thomas Holloway same age but born in Oakham Rutland which I think is a bit useless but we live and learn.

Yep, used them up very quickly. They had moved to 46,Oakington Rd. just around the corner. Also found another brother for Edith, Harold born 1902.

The strange thing is Maddie, when Edith's future husband(Sydney Bedford) was demobbed from WW1, he gave the 136, Shirland Rd. as his address.
That is strange. Did his family own the house and rent it out.

Searched 1901 and found one married to Walter BEDFORD with a son Sydney BEDFORD.

Death of Walter Manoel BEDFORD 1908 age 56 London C.

Do you think this may be your Sydney????

Elizabeth. 35. Middlesex, London.
Sydney. 13. Dunedin. New Zealand.

I have looked on google streets, and this house appears to be a 4 storey house including basement.
Now I ask, would it be seperate apartments possibly. Any ideas anyone.

A house of ill-repute came to mind .!! Seriously, it could be a lodging house, and yet the ages seem to be mixed up. Not sure

Probably a boarding/lodging house.

If you look at the HOLLWAY’s in the 1901 census you will find more people living at 136 Shirland Road.

It’s the same for 1911 census there are other people living at 48 Oakington Road with the HOLLOWAY’s.
