Edward George Marskell

Hi all,

Its my grandmothers 90th on sunday, and i have been trying for the last month to try find a photo of her father (Edward George Marskell) as she never had one, does anyone have any ideas of where i could look or if they could find one i would appreciate it so much. The info i have on him is:
Name: Edward George Marskell
Born: 12th November 1887
I believe he was married to Emily Herridge,
His daughter (my grandmother's) name is Ivy May Dymott, she married Robert Burlington James Dymott.
I believe he passed away in 1934, and that he lived in the kensington area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

there is not much on the Army records, as he only served 2 months.
Attested 28.9.1914 - discharged 18.11.1914.
living with mother Elizabeth at 50 Southam St., Kensington

height 5' 7" - weight 438lbs - fair comp - eyes light blue - hair brown

Thank you for that, Greatly appreciated, I am not 100% on the marriage, that part is just what i have been told. You managed to find the information of : Births Sep 1924, Marskell Ivy M Herridge Kensington 1a 217 ?
Can i ask where you found that? Would be great to find a document with that on for her 90th. As for a photo, do you reckon there is a slim to none chance of finding one? Again thank you for the help, greatly appreciated.

the details as per my post are what you need to order a birth certificate. To see the web page you would need to bring up the web page (first result on Search address above) and input the details. (Herridge is the mother's maiden name)

only order a cert through the official GRO website (first result from web page address above)

I've checked the web and ancestry trees for a photo, but I don't think you will get one

edit - I have just seen that Ivy has 2 birth registrations on Find my past - Herridge, as well as Marskell. All other details are the same but it is unusual in that there isn't an indication that the name has been altered

this is usually the case when the father originally does not want his name on the registration, but then changes his mind. I don't think there was a marriage.

That's very helpful information, I appreciate the help. So you think that Emily and edward never married? I know my grandmother says that Emily was not a nice character, hence no photos of her father when he passed away when Ivy was around 10.
