Hi all.

Looking for a marriage for Edward Neil/Neill/Neal, (c1851), or O'Neill/Neil/Neal, to a Hannah Mills, (c1856). Both born Ireland.

Second apparent child is Dora Neill born 1876 in Widnes, Lancs. (mmn - Mills). Prescot R.D.
Elder brother - Henry Neil b.1875, Widnes, Lancs. (mmn - Mills).

Thanks.

Steve.:)

Registration district: Rathdrum, Ireland

The actual 'original' Parish register I can read....but the only other info are the witnesses, Richard Murphy & Mary Malone.

The registration is for 1873, and Rathdrum being in the District of Wicklow.

I can't see any other Civil registration that matches up. If the registration isn't the right one, I can't see any other.

Try searching for Edwd Neill 1873. It's under Ireland Roman Catholic Parish Marriages Wicklow, Dublin, Ireland.

Check your e-mails.

Yes, checked my emails.:2fun:

BUT......two results from FMP....one for the actual PR, and the other for the Civil registration. I can only assume both these are for the same marriage. i.e, For Edward KILL or Neill.

I might need to get the research cert from the GRO in Roscommon.:(

Or am I missing the obvious.:2fun:

I think the Civil Reg must be poor transcription as the PR says Neill to me but I can see how it could be mistranscribed as Kill.

The Civil Registration definitely looks like Kill but having seen the Parish Record entry I still think it is a mistranscription of Neill, which wasn't very clearly written.

Is there a baptism for an Edward Kill or any children of the marriage?

I haven't found a dicky bird for the surname of Kill......just the birth regs of the children in Widnes, Lancs.

Surname varies from.....Neil, Neill, O'neill, o'neil, Oneill, from 1875 to 1893.

I'm with you MLT.......the parish reg is a clearer with the name Neil.
