Hi Dave
Great research all in a few hours. Because they realised they were cousins they shouldn’t or couldn’t marry and Edward was illegitimate. Still doesn’t resolve the Wells name? But it may explain why he has caused us so much trouble in finding him.

Hi Dave
Any indications of Henry and Ellen having any USA connections as Wells as a middle name for Robinsons seems to have been in extensive use way back then.

Hi Geoff and Dave
Thank you for your interest in helping me. I thought you might be interested in the outcome of finding Edward Wells Robinson.
He was born Edwin Wells Robinson in 1880 at Hove Sussex England. Parents Henry Bunyan Robinson and Emma Garner. On his Will he named his brothers Frederick Bunyan Robinson and Charles Henry Robinson. His grandfather was Charles. So that ties the family together.
Why he changed from Edwin to Edward we may never know. Where the Wells name came from still do not know.
Thanks again.
Ron
