Electoral Registers

How is it that you can look at records for weeks and not really read what is on it!
For some time I have been trying to piece together my grandfathers life and I knew that he was in the RAF in 1920 and finding his name on the electoral register for 1938 and 1939 where it shows him at home in Edmonton with his parents! -Wrong!
I just didn't see the significance of the first two letters preceding his name in the record!
The letters were N.M which apparently means Naval or Military - so he was still in the RAF and most likely from the 1920 date and up to the war's end.

Just goes to show that some times you cannot see the wood for the trees.:2fun:
