The Week (Brisbane, Qld. : 1876 - 1934) Fri 11 Nov 1904 Page 18 Family Notices
DEATHS.
COOK.—On 30th October, at Rockhampton,
Bertram William Cook, son of late
William Cook, Ipswich, monumental
mason, late of New Hall Hill, Birming-
ham, England, aged 29 years.
Inserted by his sorrowing mother, E. Cook.

Can't find the death of William who was married to Eliza Upton or of the William who was married to Sarah. The latter may or may not be a son - could be coincidence he also carved marble.

Damn. We have a problem.

The William who is a marble carver is not the son of William the marble carver who married Eliza.

MARRIAGES.
COOK—MOUCHER.—On the 4th December,
at Laidley, by the Rev. W. Curnow, William
Cook, eldest son of Mr. Joseph Cook, to
Sarah Moucher, late of Somersetshire, England.

Still looking for the death 1876 - 1904 of the William who married Eliza. If 59 in 1861 is correct then death will probably be closer to 1876 than 1904.

I'm getting lost with this one.

The Week (Brisbane, Qld.) - Fri 11 Nov 1904 p.18
DEATHS.
COOK.-On 30th October, at Rockhampton, Bertram William Cook, son of late William Cook, Ipswich, monumental mason, late of New Hall Hill, Birmingham, England, aged 29 years.
Inserted by his sorrowing mother, E. Cook.

We know that is the right family.

We know that William (lived in Gatton) who married Sarah does not belong. Occupation?

Our Ipswich correspondent writes:
The Week (Brisbane, Qld. : 1876 - 1934) Sat 18 Dec 1880 Page 7 THE BLACKALL MEMORIAL.
... and they are already engraved in full " block" letters (by Mr. William Cook, of this town) ... and these tablets (which are in white marble) are to go east and west. ...

Which William is that?

Can't be this one - age does not fit and it's before the other event and it's not Ipswich and he can't be a carver of marble.

Death 24 Jun 1880/C02072 Cook William - - * born England aged about 45 years

The Capricornian (Rockhampton, Qld) - Sat 3 Jul 1880 p.11
A CORRESPONDENT writes from Springsure: - "An inquiry was held on June 26, by Mr. A. C. Gillespie J.P., touching the death of William Cook, an employee of Mr. Kelman's, at Meteor Downs... The Rev. Mr. D. Meiklejohn officiated at his burial in the Meteor Downs cemetery the same day.
