Hello,

John Anderson & Elizabeth NICOLL
24 May 1823 Gorbals, Lanark,

John Anderson & Elizabeth NICHOL
25 May 1823 Old Monkland, Lanark

Only death I can see which can't fit:

1907 ANDERSON Elizabeth (NICHOL) Age 68

Daughter Margaret ANDERSON 12 Sep 1824 Old Monkland, Lanark

married in 1847 but I can't find Margaret with either parent in 1841.

John Newlands WARK & Margaret ANDERSON
2 Apr 1847 Barony, Lanark
2 Apr 1847 Dunoon and Kilmun, Argyll

I'm curious why they married in Argyll because they were both born in Lanark. John's parents were both born in Lanark.

1851 census has Margaret born Old Monkland.

One tree has Margaret's mother as Elizabeth BLAIR. I'd say that tree is wrong because a descendant has a middle name of Nicol.

I'd like some help trying to find how those two can be grandchildren.

John Newlands WARK's mother was Mary NEWLANDS.

I can't find the marriage or baptisms to fit the NEWLANDS family in post #3.

I can't find any trees that help either.

Thanks Geoff.

Two heads. :)

That's Elizabeth's daughter Margaret and spouse and family.

The Elizabeth I have in 1841 and 1851 is not listed as born Kincardine. The 1869 death fits for Margaret's mother but I may have a different Elizabeth in 1841 and 1851.

Thanks Geoff. :)

Let's say Kincardine is correct and that the census in posts #2 and #3 are wrong can Elizabeth be found in 1841 and 1851?

Can you find a tree that helps?

I've found several but they don't show Margaret's parents as John ANDERSON and Elizabeth NICOL.

Well, I say NICHOL not BAXTER. :)

I'm trying to find why.

One reason but there is another:

FLETCHER Euphemia Nicol Death notice 11FEB1969 Death 65 late of Wauchope Wauchope Gazette 13FEB1969
